Hawaiian Anti-Ivory Bill

March 28, 20140 Comments

Recently Hawaii state government has been dealing with a bill to ban ivory trade in the state. Yesterday, the Economic Development and Business Committee of Hawaii unanimously passed the bill! However, the fight is not over.

Tomorrow, March 28 the bill must pass in the Judiciary House, in order to move on to be voted on by the Senate. Hawaii is the 3rd biggest ivory trading state in the United States, so this bill would make a big difference in the fight for the species! Please write letters to the Hawaiian state capitol to urge them to pass this bill completely! Please find a draft of a letter below, and send it to WAMTestimony@capitol.hawaii.gov.
